 Re: old or new testaments?
I find myself relating much more to the New Testament and also find it to be an easier read. But that's not to say that I don't think the Old Testament is just as important as the New. My personal belief (supported by my church doctrine - I'm Pentacostal) is that the Old Testament is metaphorical and the New Testatment is literal, ie we no longer do things such as sacrificing animals after the birth and subsequent death of Jesus. The Old Testament I find a harder read also because it has a lot of historical information such as lineages, etc. I have always had a hard time comprehending that kind of information. I do much better with the parables, etc.

Wow, I'm surprised this hasn't had more replies. Anyhow. That's an interesting view, I'm more on Old Testament mainly because of the reasons as to why you do not relate to it the most lol. I think I have some sort of addiction to history. I hope all is well with you!

 Re: old or new testaments?
My hubby is an Old Testament guy as well for the same reasons as you, he loves history! I have really given it an honest try on several occaissions and will continue to. I just have a hard time with it.
How are things with you? Is your situation improving at all? I keep you in my daily prayers. God bless!

 Re: old or new testaments?
I do prefer the New Testament, cuz it has the laws we need to live by. Well, the Old does too, but it talks more like how we should act. IE the book of James. I reread that alot.

 Re: old or new testaments?
History is the best, especially biblical/islamic/judaism history, so addicted to it I am learning more languages just so I can read the originals. Well it's not just religion, I love other types of history like military and world war stuff. Just love to learn and love to learn about what those that came before us did. And as for your question things are a little better, just trying to get money together or figure some way out and up. Thanks for the concern sister ;). This is true a lot of information is in the new testament, my only problem with NT I would rather read the original instead of the roman picked version used by today's churches. More especially concerning Jesus. Plus in the Old Testament, God is really whoopin up on some folks.♥ Again thnx for the replies, may God guide you both =).

 Re: old or new testaments?
Random question, do the Pentecostal pray to God or Jesus or to God through Jesus.? I don't know much about them.

 Re: old or new testaments?
We can pray to both as we believe that they are one and the same. However, there is power in the name of Jesus as He was the one who lost His life to save ours, so we mostly pray "In Jesus Name". The biblical verse that supports this is
the Gospel of John ch. 14, vs 6: "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Hope that makes sense!

 Re: old or new testaments?
Yep I understand what you're saying, though we don't have the same interpretation of this book of the gospel =).
